Doug HILLARD played for Rovers from 1958 making his debut on 13 December in the home draw with Sheffield United until May 1968 in 313 games he managed 13 goals from the right back position.

Rovers visited READING on Sept 9th 1966, Dick PLUMB and Alex MUNRO netted in a 2-1 victory.
