I was one of the 14,334 crowd at Brisbane Road for this clash with ORIENT (no Leyton?), at the time Orient were top of Division 3 with 44 points from 32 games, Rovers were 5th with 42pts from 34 games, the result was a goalless draw.
At the end of the season ORIENT were promoted (46/62points) with LUTON TOWN (46/60) and Rovers 3rd (56 points). Just one win in the last 6 league matches cost Rovers promotion.
Rovers' new style programme was bigger than previous seasons to accommodate the Football League Review a magazine given free(?) with many league clubs' programmes.
Rovers visited Bournemouth (not forgetting Boscombe) for a 1st Round League Cup tie and returned with a very disappointing 3-0 defeat. But better news from Brighton (not forgetting Hove) where goals from Ray GRAYDON, Robin STUBBS and Bobby JONES gave Rovers a 3-0 win.

Any HIGHLIGHTS?
A much better season, 80 goals meant that they were the 3rd highest scorers in division 3,
Ray GRAYDON(13), Robin STUBBS(15), Harold JARMAN (10) and Carl GILBERT (12) all reaching double figures in the goal charts.
